I was just browsing photos and realized I hadn’t shared posted about my recent trip to Puerto Rico. A couple months ago I went with Zuriick on photo shoot in Puerto Rico for our spring and summer collections. While Puerto Rico probably wouldn’t be my first choice for a tropical vacation, escaping the Utah winter and spending a week in the Caribbean warmth for a work trip was completely okay with me. We actually did chance to relax a bit as well. And thanks to some gracious hosts we were well fed and shown a good time.

I recently took a short trip to what is probably my favorite city in the US, San Francisco. I hadn’t been back to SF for a couple years, and it was nice spending some time there seeing friends and eating damn good food. I miss that city. Would love to live there eventually.

DKNG posted this process video of a poster design they did for IFC series Portlandia. I love seeing the methods of other designers. I also love Portlandia. It looks like the second season is already five episodes in. I’ve got some catching up to do.

I have been following Hydro74 for years now. I have always been and continue to be impressed with his work. Here’s a time-lapse of him working on a piece called Cobra Times. I find it interesting to see the process of different artists and the way they work.

Trying to stay warm during this time of year in SLC can be hard both mentally and physically. After many years of living in areas with pretty harsh winters it has worn on me. Several months on short days and teeth-chattering weather isn’t my bag. I may be headed to Miami in February for work so I hope that works out. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Last night I was flipping through movies on Netflix came across the documentary Bill Cunningham New York. The trailer didn’t immediately appeal to me necessarily, but it had eight out of ten stars on IMDB so I decided to check it out. Now having watched the film I would say eight stars is almost not doing it justice. The film is not just about one of the pioneers of street fashion photography, but about a truly original and genuine human being. Bill Cunningham is an amazing person and this glimpse into his life is eye-opening on many levels. I highly recommend it.

As this summer is coming to an end it’s hard not to look back and wish for one more weekend barbeque, or one more vacation in the sun. I had so many good times over the past few months with friends and family. This summer was one of the best in memory and I only hope the Utah winter isn’t too harsh. Knock on wood.

Li’s apartment in Beijing is a loft on the 33rd floor with a not-so-shabby view of the city. For the past few days it’s served as our main hangout while Jesse and I are here. It’s been nice getting to spend some down time with Li because it’s rare during her hectic schedule.

Last night after a long day of work Albert, Jessie and I made good use of the studio’s balcony. Doing as boys do… tipping a few back and having some good conversation. The heat in Shanghai is starting to mellow out and I am looking forward to some mild temperatures. Tomorrow Jessie and I are headed to Beijing for a few days to meet up with Li. Pretty excited.

Xiaolongbao is on of my favorite foods, and they do it best in Shanghai. So naturally when I am here I often put down an entire basket of these soup filled dumplings of heaven myself. These little babies here are from a place called Fuchuen, arguably one of the best places in Shanghai for xiaolongbao.
